A Gay Trek Through Europe, Night 4: NYX Is Amsterdam’s Hot Saturday Night Gay Club

NYX is the club to hit up on a Saturday night in Amsterdam. There, I’ve made it easy for you.
The club is always gay-friendly, but on Saturday nights it plays host to the gay party called 3x NYX. The 3x stands for the fact that it’s three times your average gay, or as NYX says on its website, “soooo gay!”
The bar is located on Reguliersdwarsstraat, the popular gay street, so it’s incredibly easy to find a gay bar for pregaming (my favorites are Taboo and SoHo) before heading over around midnight, which is when the line starts to get long. You can also buy your tickets online beforehand to skip the line, which I highly recommend.
I went to NYX the night of “BoyToy,” hosted by British Club Kids including the well-known London Club Kid clown Lukes Lyka. Check him out:
The club is three stories with various DJs playing a combination of classic gay hits, techo, pop, hip-hop and ’90s dance. Even the bathroom had its own (ridiculously sexy) DJ.
Also, the aesthetic of the club is beautiful, with colorful neon lights inside and abstract images of stars in the outside smoking area. The bar even has painted mannequins inside of windows, because why the hell not?
NYX has a huge, packed dance-floor, a more low-key and smaller dance floor, an outdoor smoking area where it’s super easy to talk to strangers, lewks on lewks, cute boys and a colorful aesthetic.
That’s why there’s simply no comparison when it comes to Saturday night in Amsterdam. NYX is the spot, so add it to your itinerary.
