The long list of Hornet Contributor Community programs are one of many things that set the world’s premier gay social network apart from other platforms. Indeed, part of Hornet’s strength as a platform for guys looking to connect with other members of the community is that so many users contribute to making the app a more inclusive place, and the all-new Hornet Version 6.10 makes those programs more accessible than ever.

In Hornet’s latest version, clicking a badge found on a profile leads to a brand-new resource page for that Hornet Contributor Community Program. There you’ll find background info on the program, a way to access nearby Hornet users who are members of that program, and instructions on how to join the program.

Let’s take a look at all the Hornet Contributor Community Platforms you can join:

Hornet Moderators

Moderators help police the app for any illegal content, fake profiles, inappropriate pics and public nudity. They’re important because they make Hornet a safer place to be for the community. To become a Hornet Moderator, your profile must be at least one month old, and your own profile must have no violations. As part of the Hornet Moderator application process, you must watch a short training playlist and then follow the videos’ instructions. Head here for more info.

Hornet Beta Testers

Beta Testers get a sneak peak at new Hornet features before everyone else, and they help make Hornet even better by reporting bugs. They’re an important Hornet community, as Hornet is constantly adding new features, and we want to make sure everything works properly. Head here for more info.

Hornet App Translators

As a Hornet App Translator you can take pride in your native language and make Hornet stronger in your country. We allow App Translators to contribute in any language, though we focus on a few of our most popular. And those who help with translations (as with all the above programs as well) earn points they can redeem in the Hornet Webshop. Head here for more info.

Hornet Story Translators

Similar to the App Translators, these translators help make Hornet stronger in their home country by translating articles so they are accessible to a wider audience. Doing so is another great way to earn points that can be redeemed in the Hornet Webshop. Head here for more info.

Hornet Story Writers

Story Writers are those who share their witty, heartfelt, and outrageous stories or experiences with the entire Hornet community. By submitting their written stories, pics, and videos, they are able to have their work published alongside articles written by Hornet’s in-house editorial staff. Head here for more info.

Hornet Health Ambassadors

Health Ambassadors are users who make themselves available to the broader Hornet community to be contacted with questions about sexual or mental health. To become a Health Ambassador, one must be knowledgable about sexual health, non-judgmental and willing to help people in real-time. Since the program launched a year and a half ago, it has gained over 1,700 members in nearly every country where Hornet is available. Head here for more info.

Hornet Featured Guys

Hornet’s Featured Guys act as role models for members of the community to openly embrace their identity and share more about themselves and their daily lives, so that meaningful connections can emerge and the community can push back against the toxic or divisive behavior plaguing other social networks. These users are asked to follow a Playbook specifically designed for Hornet users that encourages authenticity and offers tips for posting compelling content that will spark engagement in the Hornet Feed. Head here for more info.

All Hornet users can apply to join any of these Hornet Contributor Community Programs, and those who are accepted and contribute will earn that program’s badge. Best of all, program contributors are also rewarded with “Points,” which can be redeemed for things like Hornet merch, gift cards and free Hornet Premium. When you ‘give back’ to Hornet, Hornet gives back to you!
