An Elementary School Closed Today to Avoid the Weird Ceremony of a Gun-Loving, Anti-LGBTQ Cult

Be first to like this.

The Wallenpaupack South Elementary School, an elementary school in northeastern Pennsylvania, will relocate their classes today to avoid “a special wedding-like ceremony involving AR-15 semiautomatic rifles” held by The World Peace and Unification Sanctuary, a cult-like church (is that redundant?) whose leader, Hyung Jin Moon, has been described as “anti-LGBT cult leader” by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The marriage ceremony, entitled the “Cosmic True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humanity Cheon Il Guk Book of Life Registration Blessing Ceremony,” invites heterosexual couples to come to the ceremony equipped with “crowns representing the sovereignty of Kings and Queens” and “a rod of iron (meaning an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle or a similar) … representing both the intent and the ability to defend one’s family, community and ‘nation of Cheon Il Guk,’” basically the church’s word for heaven on earth.

The AR-15 was the gun used in the recent Parkland, Florida school shooting. The use of the gun made Wallenpaupack South Elementary School parents nervous, prompting the school to move today’s classes.

Moon’s father founded the Unification Church, a Korean cult that became famous during the 1970s for holding mass weddings between strangers. The Unification Church calls Moon’s group a “breakaway” movement that has “sadly chosen to separate from and rebel against his mother and his father’s philanthropic endeavors” and has disavowed the church, its marriage event and its theology.

Moon’s church believes that Hyung Jin Moon’s father was the Messiah and that Moon is “his representative and heir in the physical world who has inherited the True Parents’ authority.”

If you feel like watching Hyung Jin Moon’s three-hour explanation of the ceremony, knock yourself out below:

The Southern Poverty Law Center says that Moon has trained his church’s followers in martial arts, hand-to-hand knife combat and assault weapons. Moon has said of public school children:

They’re not only going to learn the actual required course load, they’re getting indoctrinated into the homosexual political agenda, they’re getting indoctrinated in the transgender agenda saying that their emotions, that they can choose how they feel based on how they feel their gender, which is totally against the bible.
