UK Firefighters Spent 6 Hours Attempting to Remove a Man’s Cock Ring

An Ipswich man might have his own worst hookup story. On Dec. 30 he spent six hours in the accident and emergency department at Ipswich Hospital. He was there as two separate fire crews removed his stuck cock ring.

According to the Ipswich Star, firefighters from the Ipswich East fire station were called to the hospital to help out at 12:35 a.m. They worked at it for a little under four hours, when at 4:15 a.m. the firefighters decided to call in their fellow lifesavers from the Princes Street station. It took the two groups an additional two-and-a-half hours, finally freeing the man by 6:40 a.m.

We’d imagine the unnamed patient is happy to see 2018. It’s hard to think of a worse way to end 2017 — other than perhaps not being freed from the stuck cock ring.

While it’s an amusing situation in retrospect, it’s an important reminder to be safe when you use sex toys. And it’s good to be prepared with some cock ring safety tips.

Cock ring safety tips so you can avoid this man’s fate of the stuck cock ring:

1. Don’t use your cock ring too long

Experts recommend only using your cockring for up to a half-hour at a time. Do not sleep with it on. Numbing creams can also be dangerous when combined with a cock ring.

2. Don’t use a metal cock ring

This is one tip our unfortunate Ipswichian could have used. Experts recommend using rings that can be cut or easily undone. After all — as this fellow found out — metal rings can be very difficult to remove in an emergency.

3. Don’t use a cock ring if you’re on blood-thinners or have cardiovascular problems

In fact, ideally you should talk with your doctor before using devices like cock rings. Your doctor can let you know safe practices and can warn you of any risks you may have in particular. But remember, a cock ring limits circulation — which is fun, but if you’ve already got issues in that department, be safe.

4. Don’t use heavy or weighted rings

Gravity isn’t your friend here. Weighing down your cock ring can not only hurt the tissues at the base of your penis, it can also lead to nerve damage and hernias.

5. Make sure your cock ring fits

A cock ring might look fine, but once your penis is erect, if your cock ring is too small, it can be very difficult to remove. After all, a cock ring helps you keep your erection — whether you want to or not. This is another reason to make sure to get a stretchy cock ring rather than a rigid one.
