No judgment if you’ve never heard of Peter Nyong’o (he goes by “Junior”), actress Lupita Nyong’o’s brother. But he does have nearly 30,000 followers on Instagram, so get with the program!
He’s ridiculously come under fire for his genderqueer fashion choices at an all-day “music, food & fashion” festival called Blankets & Wine that took place in Nairobi, Kenya, two weeks ago. When Peter Nyong’o posted an image of himself at the 10th annual festival — sporting an ankle-length maxi dress — certain African outlets came for him and his fashun-wearing ways.
A blogpost by a site called AllAfrica wrote a piece calling out “his peculiar sense of fashion” and noting that back in 2017 at the Star Wars: The Last Jedi premiere (sister Lupita is part of the franchise) he wore a sarong and nose ring.
