Colton Haynes Has Been Bumped to Series Regular on the Seventh Season of ‘Arrow’
Fans of Colton Haynes are rejoicing following news that the openly gay actor will be returning as a regular on Arrow Season 7. According to a story by The Hollywood Reporter, the 29-year old former Teen Wolf star has completed negotiations with the show’s executives, paving the way for his continued appearance on the series.
News about Haynes comes at a time when The CW revealed it would renew several programs for the 2018-2019 broadcast season. In addition to Arrow, Supernatural, Riverdale, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Flash have also been renewed.
“We’re very fortunate and excited to welcome back Colton to Arrow. While we’ve always enjoyed Colton’s returns to the show, we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him return as a proper series regular, and we’re very excited about all the creative opportunities Roy Harper’s return affords us,” says Arrow executive producers in a joint statement.
Haynes, who portrays superhero Roy Harper (code name Arsenal), made his first guest appearance on the show back in 2013 during Season 1. Impressed with his acting abilities, he was made a regular for Seasons 2 and 3. Since that time, he’s made various appearances.
“I could not be happier to return to my role as Roy Harper alongside my Arrow family,” Haynes said about his return to the series.
Over the years, Hayes has appeared in a number of television shows, including Look (2010), Scream Queens (2016) and Teen Wolf (2011-2017).
There are a number of CW shows still on the bubble, including The 100, iZombie, Life Sentence and autumn debut Valor. Decisions on the fate of those programs aren’t expected until May.
