Cyberpunk 2077 is almost here! But for gaymers out there who might not be in-the-know, what is Cyberpunk 2077, and why should you care about it? Well, new game Cyberpunk 2077 is the next big AAA game to release. It was developed by CD Projekt Red, the same company that made the iconic and beloved The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

This game, however, is based on a tabletop role-playing game and is set in a dystopian future. Players portray a mercenary named V who finds himself accompanied by the digital remains of a former rocker/terrorist named Johnny Silverhand. Together, the two unwrap what it means to be truly human in the age of cyborgs and corrupt organizations.

And they may well destroy the world while doing it … depending on player decisions.

But, again, what exactly makes Cyberpunk 2077 a game worth watching (and maybe buying) for gaymers in particular?

Here are 7 reasons why gaymers are likely to love new game Cyberpunk 2077:

1. New game Cyberpunk 2077 is role-play heavy.

The game tries to stay true to its tabletop game origins by focusing heavily on player decisions. The game starts off with players choosing one of three prologues and life paths: Corpo (a corporation executive), Nomad (a roaming outlander who lives outside the city) or Street Kid (a street kid who has grown up living in the city).

From there, players will have choices for how to interact with people, and a few dialogue choices that will be unique to their backgrounds. But that’s not all; players also can make choices in how they complete missions, interact with the world, approach relationships and more. Again, this game is choice- and decision-heavy.

2. The game has romanceable characters.

New game Cyberpunk 2077 will have the option for players to get to know and romance certain characters. You can even have sex with them. (More on that later.) The devs at CDPR have kept romance information very tight, but we do know there’s a straight female romanceable character and also a lesbian romancable character. We can solidly assume there will be gay and bisexual male options as well.

Though, caution, those ‘choices’ we mentioned earlier do affect the romance. The two characters mentioned above are locked by the type of life path you chose, so choose cautiously. (or play a second round of the game to get the character you like).

3. Expect (semi-graphic) sex scenes.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not shying away from adult and mature material. That includes in-game sex scenes. Your character can not only romance some characters but can have sex with them, too, in semi-graphic scenes. The scenes allegedly show enough to depict characters in positions and give you an idea of what’s going on without being straight-up pornography.

4. New game Cyberpunk 2077 also has sex workers.

From a whole gang of sex workers in the game to seeing sex workers on the street, being able to hire their services and watching their sex scenes, this could be the most sex-positive video game in history.

5. Players can customize their characters’ genitalia.

Cyberpunk 2077 is obviously a very customizable experience, and this includes the option to customize your genitalia. Yes, you can see and pick the size of your character’s penis (or boobs if you choose to play as a girl). The game is experienced in first person, though, so you won’t see your body much without a mirror.

6. Keanu Reeves!

Many gaymers were excited to hear that Cyberpunk 2077 includes a large role acted out by beloved actor Keanu Reeves. The Matrix star voices (and did motion capture for) Jonny Silverhand, and the character is said to be a second protagonist. So get ready to spend a lot of time with Keanu.

7. New game Cyberpunk 2077 is guaranteed to be a fun ride.

Early reviews for the game dropped a few days ago, and many responded positively. It’s a game where you get to shape the world with your choices, drive around, shoot things and have a great time. Who doesn’t love that?

If new game Cyberpunk 2077 sounds great to you, you don’t have to wait long as it releases today on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and more.
