Our 5 Current Obsessions: Exclusive GucciGhost Watch, 420 Swim Briefs and an Utterly ‘MAD’ Reboot
Seeing as how Alessandro Michele just revealed the GucciGhost watch, it must be time for our biggest obsessions of the week. We’re also keeping time with the new MAD magazine reboot, Nintendo’s new take on Legos and some sexy swimwear more than appropriate for 4/20 weekend.
MAD magazine reboot
We’re simply mad about the new MAD. The logo may have changed, but your favorites, like “Spy Vs. Spy” and Sergio Aragonés’ marginal cartoons, are still there. This issue has spoofs of Star Wars and Riverdale, as well as a riff on Trump-era greeting cards. The new MAD comes out six times each year, and you can get it on newsstands everywhere or download it via Comixology. $6, comixology.com
Nintendo Labo
When it comes to video game consoles, Nintendo’s always innovating. Its latest gadget, the Nintendo Labo add-on for the latest Switch console, is available in two kits. That’s right, you’ve got to put your new toy together — but it’s fun! The kit comes with cardboard cutouts you can fold and fit together into new Toy-Cons to control your favorite games. The first kits include designs like a fishing pole, piano, or a visor and backpack that can make you look like a robot. Fun! $70, bestbuy.com
GucciGhost watch
There’s nothing Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s Creative Director, can’t do. His latest design to hit stores is the Black G-Timeless GucciGhost Watch. Crafted from PVD-coated stainless steel, this timepiece has a sapphire crystal lens and Ronda quartz movement. The GucciGhost Watch is also water-resistant up to 50 meters, and we love the textured leather strap. $935, ssense.com
Compact bar tool
This is the Swiss Army Knife of bartending, so if you’re hosting a cocktail party this is the only device you need. The set comes with six stainless steel bar tools, kept in a stylish caddy. The compact design means it’s both easy to store and perfect for taking with you to your friends’ parties to show them how making the perfect Manhattan is done. $25, rabbitwine.com
420 swim briefs from Rufskin
A marijuana leaf has never looked this cheeky! Rufskin’s 420-friendly swim brief also features a custom denim sublimation print with saddle detail in addition to the golden leaf. There’s also a faux fly, gunmetal eyelets and logo-tip drawcord designs. $49, rufskin.com
