Lil Nas X released his highly anticipated music video for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” on Friday, and conservatives are losing their tiny little minds over it. The Lil Nas X music video is filled with breathtaking visuals from beginning to end, but probably the coolest moment is when he pole dances his way down to hell to give the devil a lap dance.

In the final scene of “MONTERO,” Lil Nas X kills Satan and takes his crown. The video is undeniably cool, sexy and fun on its own, but perhaps what makes it even cooler sexier, and more fun is the wave of “Satanic panic” it has unleashed upon conservatives.

First, in case you haven’t seen it yet, watch the Lil Nas X music video for “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” here:

This guy, who is apparently running for Congress (yikes!), is having a really hard time right now:

I mean, he is really going through it.

Here are even more people freaking out over the Lil Nas X music video:

If you know anything about Lil Nas X, you know he’s an expert at Twitter. Obviously, he didn’t choose this weekend to hold back.

Apparently the ominous, overarching “system” is targeting children to — I don’t know — make them like very cool things like killing Satan and sequins. Why is it that every time a conservative speaks all I can picture is the tin hat scene in Signs (2002)?

“Satan Shoes” courtesy of Lil Nas X

To add insult to blasphemy (sarcastic gasp!), Lil Nas X also released a limited-edition sneaker (Satan shoes) in collaboration with art collective MSCHF, which feature a pentagram, inverted cross and a drop of real human blood. Only 666 pairs were made, they sold out immediately, and I will be bitter until the end of time that I didn’t get a pair.

South Dakotan Governor Kristi Noem is literally losing sleep over these sneakers. For her, it has come down to SNEAKERS VERSUS THE SOLE OF THE WORLD, and she is stressed that the sneakers are winning. Also I’m pretty sure that’s not how exclusivity works, Kristi. There are a lot more souls out there than Satan shoes.

Lil Nas X had this to say: “ur a whole governor and u on here tweeting about some damn shoes. do ur job!”

Later, Lil Nas X actually made an “apology” video regarding the Satan Shoes:

In conclusion,

Have you streamed the Lil Nas X music video for “MONTERO” yet?
