There’s just something about Hasan Minhaj!

With the internet praising his name lately, we wanted to look a little closer at the man of the internet hour. Who is Hasan Minhaj? Is he dating anyone? What’s his next big project? We’ve got answers to your questions (and a few sexy Hasan Minhaj photos to boot)!

Here are 10 fast facts about the smart, sexy Hasan Minhaj (along with some of our favorite Hasan Minhaj photos):

1. Hasan Minhaj comes from quite the accomplished family.

Hasan’s family originally hails from India, where his father worked as a chemist and his mother got her medical degree. His sister, Ayesha, is an attorney.

2. He has a political science background.

Hasan grew up in Davis, California. He stayed there for a large part of his childhood, and attended college at UC Davis, where he received a political science bachelors degree.

3. Hasan Minhaj got his start as a YouTuber.

After graduating from UC Davis, Hasan Minhaj’s first claim to fame was a YouTube channel.

After seeing the Chris Rock special Never Scared, he officially made the switch to comedy, taking trips to San Francisco to perform stand-up while running a YouTube sketch group called GoatFace Comedy. That led to him working as a correspondent on The Daily Show and later his very own Netflix series, Patriot Act.

4. He knows he’s hot (and wishes Hollywood thought the same).

The sexy Hasan Minhaj recently went viral for a resurfaced 2019 interview with Vanity Fair. In the video interview, the comedian-actor answered a series of questions while hooked up to a lie detector. One question asked Minhaj about his looks, to which he responded that he fights to receive the same opportunities as the “schlubby [white] dudes” we went to high school with. Asian actors especially, he says, either have to be extremely attractive like Daniel Dae Kim or play small roles.

“With men of color it’s like Idris Elba, Henry Golding, Zayn Malik — or you work in IT,” he says. “There’s no middle.”

That struck a chord with the internet.

5. Sexy Hasan Minhaj is a daddy (but probably not the way you wish). 

Unfortunately for all of us, the sexy Hasan Minhaj is straight (and married). But the couple — university sweethearts! — seems to be happy, and they’re the parents of a baby girl. Cute!

6. He’s an ally of the LGBTQ community. 

While Hasan Minhaj is straight, he’s a big supporter of gay rights. In 2015 he wrote an open letter to Iranian-American author Reza Aslan about supporting same-sex marriage.

“Here’s the thing,” he wrote. “When you are an underrepresented minority — whether Muslim, African-American, female, etc. — democracy is an all-or-nothing business. … You fight for everyone’s rights (and the operative word here is ‘fight’), or you get none for yourself. Democracy isn’t a buffet. You can’t pick and choose which civil liberties apply to which people. Either we are all equal, or the whole thing is just a sham.”

Nicely said!

7. Hasan Minhaj is also a voice actor.

In addition to acting work, Minhaj has also done some voiceover work. He voiced the character Rabi Ray Rana in Far Cry 4.

8 He helped design a line of shoes!

Hasan recently released a shoe collaboration with Cole Haan. Together they released two limited-edition 4.ZERØGRAND Hikers.

9. Hasan Minhaj (shamelessly) drives a minivan.

Before Thanksgiving, Hasan posted a picture of himself in front of his new Black Honda Odyssey. In the Instagram post’s caption, he thanked the dealership for “making a brown dad dream come true.”

10. Up next, he’s joining The Morning Show on Apple TV+.

Now that his Netflix series Patriot Act has been canceled, Hasan Minhaj’s schedule is more open for acting gigs. And he’s gotten himself a job over at the Emmy-nominated Apple TV drama The Morning Show. Good for him!
