When pictures of the Chris Pratt dad bod made their way to the internet earlier this week, we were ecstatic. The actor — known for his roles in Parks and Recreation, Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy — is one of those celebrities who yo-yos between super-ripped and pudgy dad bod, and frankly we prefer the latter! Alas, don’t expect that Chris Pratt dad bod to be around for long, as the actor is apparently on something called the “Daniel Fast.”

The Daniel Fast is a Bible-based diet that has those partaking to only eat fruits, vegetables and unleavened breads.

Just this week, Chris Pratt told his followers in an Instagram story, “Hi, Chris Pratt here. Day Three of the Daniel Fast. Check it out. It’s 21 days of prayer and fasting.”

Here’s what the Daniel Fast is, according to its website:

It’s a biblically based partial fast based on two accounts of the Prophet Daniel’s fasting experiences (seed Daniel 1 and 10) and typical Jewish fasting principles. The Daniel Fast eating plan is similar to a vegan diet with additional restrictions. See the Daniel Fast Food List for a more complete outline of foods to include and foods to avoid.

Lasting just short of a month, this Bible-based diet supposed to bring those who undertake it closer to God. And apparently rid the world of the Chris Pratt dad bod, which we cannot get behind.

This isn’t the first time Chris Pratt has put his Christian views into the public discourse. At the MTV Movie Awards last June, Pratt won the “Generation Award” and told the crowd, “God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do,” and, “Learn to pray. It’s easy, and it’s so good for your soul.”

Chris Pratt reportedly attends Hillsong Church, which was made famous for some of its young celebrity congregants, namely Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

Which do you prefer: the Chris Pratt dad bod or a more lean, ripped version of the actor courtesy of the Daniel Fast?
