Iceman Lives His Best Gay Life in New ‘X-Men’ Comic, Has Sex With Former Villain
Iceman, the openly gay X-man who came out as gay in April 2015, is apparently icy in the streets and fiery in the sheets. He just appeared in issue number 31 of the X-Men: Gold comic series, waking up shirtless in bed after having sex with villain-turned-good-guy Pyro three times in one night. While the comic doesn’t actually show an Iceman gay sex scene, it’s nice to know Marvel is nakedly embracing its out X-Man.
Here’s how the the Iceman gay sex scene plays out
In the scene, Iceman (real name Bobby Drake) wakes up all muscled and shirtless in a hotel room bed only to see his blond-haired lover, Pyro (real name Simon Lasker), exiting the bathroom and announcing the shower’s free.
“Or, I could go back in if you want company,” Pyro says.
“Simon,” Iceman responds, sitting at the edge of his bed in boxers (though who really puts underwear back on after late night sex?), “I thought — I mean — I thought we agreed last night was a onetime thing.”
“Actually,” Lasker responds, his treasure trail visibly leading under his towel in an overhead shot, “if I’m counting right, last night was a three-time thing.”
But before Iceman can respond to his flirtatious friend, the two hear a noise in the upstairs room and the superheroics begin.

Pyro has long appeared in the X-Men series as a villainous character with the ability to control fire. (The first iteration of Pyro was named St. John Allerdyce.) Lasker himself accidentally burned down his high school, killing everyone inside of it (whoops). He was later brainwashed into joining the Brotherhood of Mutants, a bad-guy collective secretly financed by an anti-mutant activist. After discovering this, he leaves the group and joins the X-Men.
This seems to be the first indication in the comics that Pyro is gay, so congrats to him.
Pyro and Iceman hooking up now is especially great because in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand, the Iceman and Pyro characters were enemies who had a vigorous battle in which Iceman head butted Pyro into submission after Pyro bathed him in ice-melting flames.
Last January, Iceman (though an “alternate” version of him from the past who currently lives in the present) had his first gay kiss with the openly gay empathic Inhuman character Romeo in All-New X-Men #17.
Iceman got his own standalone comic series in June 2017, and even though its first issue showed him kicking some bigoted butt, at its outset he was still closeted to his parents and felt ambivalent about dating. His standalone series was cancelled less than a dozen issues later.
Interestingly, Iceman will get another standalone series on Sept. 12, 2018, with gay writer Sina Grace (who wrote the prior Iceman standalone) in charge of penning the new issues.
Hopefully Iceman will continue to get laid in the new comic as well and we will see plenty more Iceman gay sex scenes.
